అప్పుడెప్పుడో ఏదో పోస్ట్ లో ఎవరో ఎవరినో లినక్సు లో మన దిన పత్రికలు ఎలా చదవాలో అడిగినట్లు గుర్తు. ఆ అడిగిన వాళ్ళకి ఈపాటికి సమాధానం తెలిసిపోయి వుండొచ్చు. తెలియని వాళ్ళకోసం ఈ టపా.
మీరు చదవాలి అనుకుంటున్న దినపత్రిక బ్రోజర్లొ తెరవండి. అక్కడ ఫాంట్ హెల్ప్ అని వుంటుంది. అక్కడ నొక్కి డౌన్లోడ్ చేసుకోండి. ఒక .ttf file download అవుతుంది. ఇప్పుడు లినక్సు లో kfontview అని ఒక అప్లికేషను వుంటుంది అది ఇన్స్టాల్ చేసుకోండి. తరువాత ఇందాక డౌన్లోడ్ చేసిపెట్టున్న .ttf file మీద రైట్ క్లిక్ చేసి kfontview తో ఓపెన్ చెయ్యండి . ఇంస్టాల్ అని వుంటుంది క్లిక్కండి .అంతే browser resart చెయ్యండి. ఇప్పుడు మీ పత్రిక కనపడుతుంది.

I tried using
apttitude search kfontviewer
But dindn't get any result.
Also I tried opening the .ttf file using gnome-font-viewer but there is not install option there. please, clarify
The simple thing is that ... just download the add-ons for the firefox ... i installed the following plugins ... on ubuntu 9.04 :
padma
lipikar
Indic input extension
and i am able to see every thing and even i can type in telugu ...

I am sorry Narendra, that is not kfontviewr, that is kfontview. Just install it using add/remove applications or apt-get. And there is no install option in gnome-font-view
And the following is the other way of installing .ttf files
open the terminal and type the following commands
cd /usr/local/share/fonts
sudo mkdir truetype
cd truetype
then copy the .ttf file to this directory
now type cd
and now fc-cache
thats it.

what you said is absolutely correct. But i don't know what happed i cant see news paaer with lipikaar extension although i am able to type in telugu. So i opted for the choice what i have given.

మాధవ గారి సలహా ప్రకారం ఇంటిలోని నా కంప్యూటర్ లో Scribus ఇన్స్టాల్ చేశాను. బాగానే పని చేసింది. ఇప్పుడు నేను ఆఫీస్ కి వెళ్ళి Scribus ఇన్స్టాల్ చేస్తాను.
